Tables Logik developed in conjunction with We Study Smart
Tables Logik is a strategy for learners to develop their "times tables" knowledge without having to repetitively practice a series of abstract facts that have very little meaning to the learner. The process of learning uses visual images that actually reflect the meaning of the fact being learned and the parent or mentor actively encourages the learner to explore the fact and explain in various different ways. The Logik strategy is now supported with free practice online software (TablesViz) available for Apple devices via the App Store with progressive levels for the learner to work through enabling them to practice at a pace appropriate for them.

Key to the strategy is for learners to explore a fact they are trying to learn (ideally with manipulatives such as counters. The learner then chooses a method that they like best to try and remember when asked to recall the fact. There are a number of different approaches a learner can take and its important for them to explore for themselves and choose one they like best rather than a method given to them. However, parents may wish to consider the different approaches so there are number of videos below that suggest some (but not all) methods that may be considered.
We Study Smart are very proud to have entered an official partnership with the National Government of Colombia and their Ministry of Education. Together we have embarked on a mission to help millions of students across Colombia learn their multiplication tables through a method used to develop their number sense, number flexibility and help them develop ‘mental maths’ fluency. Our platform will be made available free for all public schools across Colombia’s 32 states. Schools will be able to access our Tables Logik platform via the Ministry of Education’s national education portal.
